CPRIT releases five tumor research requests after receiving first funding The Cancer Avoidance and Research Institute of Texas released five cancer research requests for applications just 90 days after receiving its first funding. IN-MAY, 2009, the 81st Legislature appropriated $450 million dollars in bond proceeds for the next two years for CPRIT to invest in cancer research and avoidance grants that will expedite innovation in cancers treatment and expand cancer prevention providers in the state flow into the penis . This appropriation is the first for the $3 billion, ten year project accepted by Texas voters in 2007.
